Quaggy Quilters' Exhibition

Lovely sunny day on 17th April..just right for a quilt show and it proved a good day for visitors! We had a lot of people visit our 4th exhibition. Sylvia Critcher's stand with her specialist quilting kits was popular and Jo Baddeley brought her goodies from Puddleducks in Sevenoaks. The refreshments - home made cakes - proved a great attraction too.

My quilt in the exhibition was made using a jelly roll bought at Quilts UK last year and made alongside my quilting friend Jan Bailey, who taught me to quilt in 1989. I love traditional quilts but I also want to try my hand at more art quilts. As I am retiring this week (!)I shall have more time to experiment.

Stamping & Scrapbooking Show

I have spent a lovely day with my daughter Sarah at Alexandra Palace at the Big Stamping and Scrapbooking Show. Sore feet and ankles but it was worth it! Lots of inspiration and lots of spepnding but we won't dwell on that! Sarah is a card maker - good at drawing and artwhereas I am an altered book/scrapbooker - especially now that we have two grandchildren.

My daughter......

This has been a big day in my life - my daughter has bought a small sewing machine from John Lewis and has been experimenting with my help. Never thought I would see the day when Sarah would sew! It has made me very happy! We shall have her quilting yet!

Going to New Zealand!

I am excited about a planned trip to New Zealand in May to visit our son and daughter in law and grandchildren who are out there for a year. I have tracked down a website for a rather lovely looking patchwork shop called Cushla Village Fabrics and hope to be able to visit. We shall be based in Auckland but hope to hire a car. I will take loads of photos and hope to be able to use them in my Creative Sketchbookscourse which I am doing online. Looking forward to seeing the grandchildren - Ben 3 and Amalie who will be a year old whilst we are there!
